When you’re planning and organising your wedding day, there are generally three big areas you focus on; the wedding venue, the wedding outfits, and the wedding food.
Once you’ve chosen your venue and decided what type of dress you’d like, the final biggest decision is the catering for your big day. It’s one of the most exciting and variable decisions too, as there’s lots to think about to make sure your wedding breakfast is as perfect as possible.
Finding and choosing food caterers for your wedding can be a bit of minefield, and we want to make that process as simple and stress-free as possible. So here’s what to expect from your food caterers with a wedding at Heaton House Farm.
1. Choosing our recommended suppliers
How many weddings have you been to where the food is a disappointment? A standard, 3 course wedding breakfast that’s forgotten almost immediately after the plates have been cleared away.
We know that finding an amazing caterer is a big task in itself, and we want to make sure that every single part of your wedding breakfast is handled perfectly. We want you to have a caterer who delivers exceptional food, without fail.
That’s why we have a list of recommended, approved suppliers for you to choose from at Heaton House Farm.
Each supplier is completely independent of Heaton House Farm, and you get direct contact with them to discuss any and all requirements you have – whatever you’d like.
But we know we can trust them. We have our list of approved caterers at Heaton House Farm so that:
- You don’t need to stress about shopping around or finding the right caterer – our suppliers can take care of everything for you
- You don’t need to worry about the quality of the food
- You don’t need to worry about cutlery or plates, as that’s all taken care of
- The catering teams know exactly how we operate at Heaton House Farm and are familiar with our kitchens
- We know that our caterers are more than capable of handling all the logistics of serving hundreds of people
- We all know that you’re going to get an incredible selection of food for your wedding breakfast.
On our list of approved caterers, you’ll find a selection of outstanding options. Barretts and Vanilla in Allseasons are our two main caterers, each with extensive experience at hosting all different kinds of wedding breakfasts.
You’ll also find several different options for both Asian and Kosher catering too.
2. Deciding what to eat at your wedding
That’s the next big decision – choosing what type of food you’d like.
Will you be having canapés and nibbles? Are you having a traditional 3 course wedding breakfast, or a BBQ out on the patio? Do you want to skip starters and just have an extravagant dessert?
The choice is yours!
Some of our top ideas to think about:
- Sharing plates on the tables, like tapas and salads
- Different stalls set-up to bring a variety of world cuisines to the wedding
- Street food or festival fare
- A traditional, formal style dinner with set courses
- An informal buffet option
- Afternoon tea
- Themed plates and dishes
- Joints served and carved at the table
Don’t forget to think about what type of food you’d like for evening guests too, if you’re inviting extra friends and family later on. Your caterers will talk through this with you too!
3. Finalising your menu
We recommend you sit down and meet with our different approved caterers, to have a chat about what you’d like for your wedding breakfast and decide which you prefer.
Both Barretts and Vanilla in Allseasons will also invite you to a personal tasting session, to help you decide what you want to eat on the big day.
They’ll talk through your options and help you finalise exactly what your menu should contain. Like any good wedding caterer, they’ll advise you on costs and practicalities, special dietary requirements and a style of food that complements your theme and venue.
They’ll also be sure to make sure that your guests feel completely full and satisfied after the wedding breakfast
4. Leaving the caterers to it
Whatever you do, don’t worry about the food at your wedding. Don’t stress about the logistics of serving multiple courses, or the making sure every table gets up to the buffet without overcrowding.
That’s what your caterers are here for.
It’s why you have a wedding coordinator. And why we have our dedicated, approved caterers.
We work together, the Heaton House Farm events team and your chosen caterer, to ensure that every aspect of the set-up, serving and clean-up operation is taken care of.
You don’t need to worry about making sure the caterers turn up on time, or that they have the right power and water supplies. You don’t need to order in plates and napkins, or spend the night before setting up tables.
Together, we handle everything.
All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the delicious food when it’s brought out.
