Why did you want to join Heaton House Events?

I wanted to join a reputable company that offered more than the "norm" restaurant/hotel style experience.

What do you spend your day doing?

My key role is to supervise, coordinate and work alongside the housekeeping team in the daily operations for the accommodation, to ensure all of our 15 bedrooms are serviced to an exceptional standard. I regularly inspect the bedrooms for quality of cleanliness and record my findings for reporting purposes to management. I keep a close eye on repairs and upgrades when needed and record/follow up as applicable. Other tasks include scheduling team rotas, checking and ordering stock, training new and existing team members and keeping the team up-to-date on any new procedures or issues... A little coffee drinking can also be known to happen..!

What’s the best thing about working at Heaton House Events?

Working in such a lovely venue with amazing views makes the job much more enjoyable! The trust the management team seem to have in us allows us the freedom to do our job efficiently.

What's your proudest achievement whilst working at Heaton House Events?

I have just commenced my 3rd year with Heaton House Events and I still feel excited to be part of this ever increasing family business. I think my proudest achievement was managing the team through a busy period during my first year whilst still in my previous role as Assistant Housekeeper. With such a great team behind me, it now feels like second nature and I am confident that this year will be as successful, if not better, than the previous two. I am hoping my next achievement may be something to do with helping to organise some valuable workspace in our storage areas.

What would you say to someone who is looking to join our team?

If you are looking for a varied job, with no two days the same, and your willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a lovely time here, this is the place for you!

What top tip would you give for a brilliant event?

As per The Killers song: "Smile like you mean it!" Remember the 5 P's - "Perfect Preparation Prevents Poor Performance
