Spending their Summer Holiday in Tenby, Steph and Jamie were enjoying their trip away to the seaside with Steph’s family. Taking a beautiful walk together on the Prince Albert War Memorial, Jamie called Steph’s name… She turned around to find him down on one knee with a gorgeous ring and an important question to ask. Steph was absolutely over the moon! The first thing Steph decided about her special day was the theme… rustic! So, they both started searching for venues that would fit this theme perfectly. Using Google to find potential venues, Steph and Jamie were searching for ‘barn weddings’ to find the perfect place to tie the knot. Steph’s family had bought them some magazines to browse through but they both preferred searching online. Deciding to choose a venue each to view, Jamie found Heaton House Farm and it looked like it had everything they were looking for! Spacious rooms and separate areas for the different parts of the day, they loved the look of the venue and the grounds. Especially the photo opportunities!
They came for a viewing, and it is safe to say it exceeded their every expectation… “As soon as we walked in, we knew Heaton House Farm was the perfect venue for us” Everything felt just right for them, so they chose a date and booked Heaton House Farm for their special day. Steph then turned her attention to the décor, browsing Pinterest to find ideas that would complement the venue perfectly. She knew she wanted to have a go at making a lot of the décor herself so did lots of research to find the perfect items to recreate. Creating everything from welcome signs to place cards, Steph made sure her special day was full of homemade charm. For the guest’s arrival, Steph created a beautiful wooden welcome sign that she styled with strings of ivy. Alongside this, she arranged wooden crates with photo frames, candles and flowers. A stained pallet with white writing and ivy became a charming order of service.
A bike wheel with a floral arrangement became a unique and enchanting table plan for guests to find where they would be sitting. In Steele’s Barn, Steph decorated the tables with hessian runners and created centrepieces from log risers, rustic jars filled with gorgeous flower arrangements, candles and tealights. She also provided the perfect rustic place cards – tiny wooden circles decorated with greenery and the guest’s name! Everything looked absolutely wonderful together. Décor sorted and all the DIY completed, Steph had to pick the perfect dress! Originally, she had liked the idea of a long-sleeved lace dress as they had picked to get married in winter. She tried on 6 dresses before she found the one!
A stunning lace dress with an elegant train, bead detailing and cap sleeves… Steph looked beautiful for her winter wedding! She paired her dress with a pair of simple yet elegant white heels and a gorgeous floral crown which she absolutely adored. To complement her dress and the theme, Steph picked out navy floor length dresses with lace and a waistband with sparkly detailing for her four bridesmaids to wear. Whilst Steph was busy sorting the outfits for her bridesmaids, Jamie went suit shopping with both of their dads, his best man and Steph’s best man. Jamie opted for a smart three-piece suit in a mixture of different hues and a navy tie for himself. The groomsmen had matching waistcoats and navy suits to tie the scheme together. “I didn’t see his suit until the day, which was lovely! And, he definitely chose right!” Everything was planned, Steph and Jamie just had to wait for their special day to arrive… On the morning of Thursday 28th February, Steph arrived at Heaton House Farm to get ready with her bridal party in the beautiful Pamper Room. They had a wonderful morning having their hair and make-up done with lots of laughter and fizz! Steph was ready, and her dad arrived to walk her up the aisle in the Oak Beamed Barn to Jamie who was waiting patiently. They walked up to a cover version of Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’.
The ceremony was beautiful and once vows were exchanged, the new Mr and Mrs Onolfo walked down the aisle as a married couple to ‘Burning Love’ by Elvis. Everyone head straight outside to enjoy their reception drinks and capture some beautiful photographs. Although the weather was a little gloomy, the fog made for some absolutely stunning atmospheric pictures! It was soon time for everyone to take their seats to indulge in a delicious wedding breakfast. Steph and Jamie chose an American Sharing Platter for starter, Chorizo Stuffed Chicken served with Potatoes for main and a White Chocolate and Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert. Once everyone had eaten their meals, the speeches began. Steph’s Dad had everyone in hysterics, Jamie touched everybody’s hearts and his best man finished the speeches off with a huge cheers to the Bride and Groom! Steph and Jamie then cut their beautiful rustic cake decorated with lots of berries for the evening guests to enjoy.
The newly married Mr and Mrs Onolfo then took to the floor for their first dance. They danced to ‘Legacy’ by Cadillac Three, and of course they were joined by their son! Steph’s Dad then joined her for a special dance together before all her Dad’s side of the family danced to her Nan’s favourite song as she sadly passed away 6 months before. It was the perfect way to involve her in Steph and Jamie’s special day. Everyone danced the night away, ending Mr and Mrs Onolfo’s day perfectly!
