Enjoying a relaxing break at Ribby Hall Spa, Rebecca walked into their room after her treatment to find flowers and cupcakes.
Martin picked this moment to ask Rebecca to marry him. And of course, she said yes!
They began their planning by searching online for a wedding venue. Stumbling across Heaton House Farm, Rebecca knew this was the one as it outshone the other venues she had looked at.
“I knew by looking at the photographs that I was going to choose it over the others”
They loved the relaxed feel, the breath-taking scenery and the way the outside lit up at night – it certainly ticked all of their boxes!
Rebecca and Martin decided that Friday 24th May 2019 would be the date for their wedding and started planning the other elements that would make their day special.
They wanted a rustic style, something that bought the outdoors in, and chose to dress the venue themselves with the help of Natalie’s Florist. Simple, yet effective, they had lots of greenery with bursts of pink flowers in bark holders on the tables. A stunning arrangement using the same style flowers was attached to the Oak Pagoda to carry the theme through to the ceremony.
With a style sorted for the venue, Rebecca started searching online for a bridal shop. She had an idea of the type of dress she was looking for and found that Fairytale Brides in Whitefield had the perfect one!
However, when she arrived she changed her mind! Originally, she had wanted a dress with lace sleeves, but she ended up choosing a dress with no sleeves at all.
A stunning and elegant white dress, Rebecca chose a flowing dress with a detailed body that married perfectly with her custom-made veil with light pink flowers sewn all over it.
Rebecca then chose beautiful sage green dresses with slightly different necklines for her bridesmaids to wear which matched the theme perfectly.
To carry the theme through to Martin and his groomsmen’s outfits, Rebecca went shopping with him to help pick one out. They chose smart three-piece suits in a bold navy colour, paired with a sage green tie and pink floral buttonhole.
Soon it was time for their special day to arrive.
Rebecca and her bridal party made their way to Heaton House Farm the day before their wedding to settle in, dress the venue and relax before the big day.
Spending the morning getting ready in the stunning Pamper Room, everyone enjoyed having their hair and make-up done as they drank a few glasses of fizz!
And just down the corridor in the Honeymoon Suite, Martin was getting ready with his groomsmen!
With everyone ready, they head outside for a beautiful ceremony under the Oak Pagoda. Rachel walked up the aisle towards Martin, linking arms with her dad who looked extremely proud, to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri.
Afterwards, they made their way to the courtyard for a full group photograph before the new Mr and Mrs Lowry took a few moments away to capture some stunning shots in the grounds.
As Rebecca and Martin were enjoying their time together, the guests all found their seats in Steele’s Barn and waited for Mr and Mrs Lowry’s entrance.
They arrived to a huge round of applause as everyone was upstanding to welcome the newly married couple to their wedding breakfast.
Everyone indulged in a delicious three-course meal with the Trio of Desserts proving to be the favourite course!
With desserts finished, it was time for the speeches. Rebecca’s dad gave a heartfelt speech and Martin got everybody laughing!
Then, it was time for the Best Man’s surprise. He had secretly organised to have the projector on for his speech as he showed the guests a funny video which they all loved!
Mr and Mrs Lowry then cut their stunning cake before making their way into the Wedding Barn for their first dance. Taking to the floor, they danced under the twinkly lights to ‘The One’ by Kodaline.
The band had everyone dancing and singing along all night long as Rachel and Martin celebrated starting married life together!
Rachel’s Memorable Moment:
“We enjoyed the speeches the most and the best man’s secret funny video he played on the projector”
What did Martin think?
“No, we were really pleased with all our suppliers and my suit fit me great so the day was perfect, I would say to future grooms to not be too nervous about your speech! I was and it all went fine”
Advice for future couples
“Our tip would be to just relax on the day as everything will come together perfectly”
