We LOVE a summer wedding here at Heaton House Farm, and Rachael & Terry’s special day with us was the perfect example of why we do; a ceremony in the sun, garden games on the lawn and BEAUTIFUL pictures of a romantic walk through the corn fields. We asked Rachael all about how she planned her special day with us…

POPPING THE QUESTION & PLANNING THE PARTY

Whilst on a romantic holiday in Italy, Terry asked Rachael to marry him in front of the beautiful Trevi Fountain in Rome; of course, she said YES!

Rachael couldn’t wait to get planning and got booking tours at venues with her Mum, Mother-In-Law-to-be and her #BrideTribe. One of which was here!

“We booked onto an open day & was shown around by Margaret. We fell in love with the venue straight away, we were looking for somewhere which could host the whole day in one place and where each part of the day would flow into the other. It was perfect for us!”

With the venue booked it was then time to use Pinterest & Instagram to gather ideas for theming, she found a picture of her bridesmaid dresses (which she managed to get on eBay!) and planned the whole wedding around the pale blue colour of them – don’t they look pretty!

Finding her own dress wasn’t quite so easy, she visited two bridal shops with a really clear idea of what she wanted, but then came away with something completely opposite!

“Terry had no idea about my dress, it was a complete surprise, and then he cried as I walked down the aisle!” (Awww!)

Terry himself wore a lovely grey French Connection suit featuring a pale blue tie to match the wedding colour theme.

“I DO’S” IN THE SUN

They were one of our lucky couples who had the perfect weather to have their ceremony outside under the Oak Pagoda. The bridal party walked down the aisle to Bruno Mars’ Just The Way You Are, then the happy MARRIED couple walked back down to ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ – Fantastic choices!

PARTY TIME

After a delicious wedding breakfast that consisted of a BBQ-style menu, Rachael’s dad had everyone fooled during his speech as he pretended to down a WHOLE glass of JD – he even fooled Rachael & Terry too! Luckily, he wasn’t too ruined by the fake glass of JD to perform the father-daughter dance later in the evening where they danced to ‘What a Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong; it was a song he always used to sing in his best vocal impression!

The couple, and all of their friends and family, had an incredible time dancing the night away under the stars to Northern Xposure – they certainly knew how to party!
