The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, May 2016…..this was the setting for Aarons planned proposal, unfortunately, after taking a wrong turn they mistakenly ended up at Grand Canyon-Parashant – the sister monument, but not one to let this get in the way of his plans, Aaron decided to make the most of it, after all, the scenery was amazing, they could see for miles and with Jade exploring the views it was the perfect time to get down on one knee for Aaron and hear Jade say ‘Yes’.
Jade initially started her planning by using Hitched, the wedding inspired website. They looked at venues they both liked and booked viewings for them all. Both Jade and Aaron wanted rustic and somewhere in the countryside, so Heaton House ticked all boxes. With a large list of recommended suppliers for Jade to use, as well as researching what previous HHF couples use, she had lots of inspiration.
One of the big attractions for Jade was Heaton House’s ‘pamper room’ specifically designed to give brides and their bridal party a luxurious, private space to relax and get ready before the ceremony, with views stretching over the Cheshire countryside, it was the perfect place for Jade.
Aaron and Jade initially had no theme in mind, however, after taking advice from the venue and ideas from Pinterest, they decided on rustic theme with accents of Lavender, Olive leaf and ivory.
Jade finally found her dress in the third shop she visited, Maria Modes Bridal, and loved it as soon as she tried it on, with the help of a recommended seamstress and a few tweaks, it was perfect!
Aaron wanted something unique, in fact, Jade insists Aaron was more choosy than her! He visited Best Man Ltd where he tried on many, many suits but in the end decided on a grey checked suit with a navy spotty tie, with the groomsmen wearing navy suits with matching ties. Jade always thinks back to how good he looked on the day, how everyone looked amazing!
From the first day they visited the venue, they had always dreamed of an outdoor ceremony, and on their special day luck was on their side as the sun shone and they had the most beautiful ceremony under the Oak Pagoda.
The set up looked stunning with gold chairs and some of the aisle ends decorated with a simple, yet beautiful, posey bouquet. And with the views as the backdrop, it was perfect!
“We went for some quite quirky songs for our wedding as we wanted to make sure they had meaning to us. I walked down the aisle to ‘Jurassic Park – The Piano Guys’ (Aaron is a huge Jurassic Park fan and the song is so beautiful!), and our exit song as a married couple was ‘Chicken Fried – Zac Brown Band’ (the lyrics in the song are perfect for us, we love fried chicken, beer and just the simple things in life.)
The wedding breakfast was delicious featuring all carefully chosen dishes of food that mean something to them both including childhood favourite dish of sausage and mash.
Following the incredible speeches, which makes an enjoyable playback now, they hit the dancefloor busting the moves to DJ Tom Finkill – he really knows how to get the party started and everyone stayed on the dancefloor all night (they were even too busy dancing to eat all of the burgers and chips!)
Memorable Moment
“I’ve so many favourite parts but the ones that stand out are walking outside with my Dad for the ceremony and seeing the amazing views and then when me and Aaron became husband and wife! I also absolutely loved being able to feed the lambs!”
Have you got any tips for future couples?
“My tip would be to make sure you do whatever you and your partner want to do, it’s your special day and don’t worry what anyone else might think. There can be a lot of pressure to make sure it’s perfect, and so long as it’s what you want then it will be perfect for you. Try not to get too stressed with all the planning, it really does all come together on the day and anything that doesn’t you honestly won’t care or notice!”
Groom’s Comment
“I was really nervous in the morning and for my speech, but it all went really smoothly and it was a great day. I’d definitely recommend a quick shot of whiskey with the lads in the morning to calm the nerves! Wouldn’t change anything!”
