Even heavy rain couldn’t stop Rachael and Lee having a perfect day!

The 8th of August 2019 was a very special day in the lives of Rachael and Lee. Their wedding day at Heaton House was booked and married life fast approached.

The story, however, began after Lee proposed in the grounds of a beautiful, imposing country house overlooking fields of deer, all washed down with a glass of chilled champagne.

Planning started in earnest when Rachael and Lee had been on a mini UK break and whilst travelling home, they literally stumbled across Heaton House Farm, it was the only venue they viewed, simply meant to be.

Rachael and Lee described themselves as ‘eclectic’ so were aiming for a fun, rustic wedding which reflected their style and personalities. Rachael started out using Pinterest, created dream boards and used those as a start and built up relationships with local suppliers to make some things, whilst up-cycling second-hand items and incorporating some family treasures including vintage suitcases and crockery for that personal touch to their venue dressing.

Once the styling was decided, all the details of suppliers and fine details of ideas started to fall into place, the last thing to be decided on was Rachael’s dress, very unusual to leave it until last but Rachael was quietly confident she would find exactly what she wanted which was a full-sleeved, vintage dress with detail, quite quickly. To make sure, she tried several styles with an open mind, but the initial idea of vintage was still the one.

Heaton House’s pamper room was ideal for Rachael and all her bridesmaids to get ready, with the private, outside decking and the rolling views across the Cheshire plains it was the perfect relaxing backdrop to the start of the day.

Rachael had her 8 best friends as Bridesmaids and because they were all so different in personality, she decided to break from tradition and gave them a colour scheme with which to choose their own style of dress, this led to a stunning array of contrasting shades of grey, a varying amount of detail and differing lengths.

Lee opted for a classic, light tweed suit in navy whilst the groomsmen were styled in matching grey suits with navy blue ties, navy pocket squares and silver pewter stag accessories, all completed with wildflower buttonholes.

One of the huge benefits of Heaton House Farm is the ability to change ceremony plans with relatively short notice if the great British weather doesn’t behave. Plan A was for Rachael and Lee to be married outside, at the last moment, the heavens opened, and Plan B was swung into action, our venue team turned everything around in quick time for an equally stunning indoor ceremony.

The party was now ready to be started, the wedding breakfast was a beautiful 3 course, sit down meal with a selection of wines to compliment the handpicked dishes and the evening entertainment wouldn’t have been complete without karaoke and a vintage photo booth for their fun-loving guests.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Clark!!!
