Calling all Easter Bunny Brides

by sarah | March 6, 2016 | Wedding Planning Guides

We’ve endured the winter long enough. So, throw down your winter woollies and dig out your skirts as spring is finally here! Nature is slowly wakening from its sleepy winter slumber. The joy of Easter is upon us with children looking forward to adventures during school holidays and filling their faces with delicious chocolate from the Easter bunny.

It is a beautiful time of year to get married, offering you lots of style options to make your day at Heaton House Farm truly unique to you. We’ve seen some lovely touches that we think you’ll love!

The spring colour palette features pretty pastels of soft pinks, blues, yellows and greens, check out the beautiful bouquet in the photo by The Flower Lounge. It’s a delicate abundance of colour, perfectly accentuating one another. Gone are the days when you have to have just the one colour running through your wedding, you can have them all! Flowers look especially beautiful when using a range of colour and you can even incorporate seasonal flowers such as the perennial daffodil and tulip. The gentle combination of colour looks beautiful across the venue. They suit the rustic feel to the Oak Beamed Entrance Barn and add soft touches to the elegant backdrops in Wedding Barn and Steele’s Barn. Our brilliant recommended florists are happy to advise you on other seasonal flowers that are available at this pretty time of year.

To really encompass the Easter theme, use it as the thread that runs through your wedding. Keep the children entertained with an exciting egg hunt around the venue. Or how about having a children’s activity station with colouring in and egg decorating? They’ll love all the little challenges you’re setting them and it will keep them occupied during the drinks reception and speeches. If the weather is on your side you may even be able to do the hunt outside around the lovely Heaton House Farm sycamore tree. Adults can bathe in the warmth of the spring sun as they enjoy the drinks reception by the Oak Pagoda and watch on as their children play blissfully. The pictures would be delightful!

Photobooths are great fun! They capture the imagination of your guests and frame it for life, so add a little Easter in there too. Pop some little bunny ears, some bunny teeth on a stick props, a few cute chicks and a giant bunny costume in! You know it will make its way onto the dancefloor later as someone really gets into the spirit.

We love this great idea for wedding favours, as used by one of our couples. They incorporated the Easter theme by giving Cadbury’s Creme Eggs in a personalised egg cup for their wedding favours. It was a treat for now and a keepsake for later! Little touches like these will really tie together your theme. Staying with the confectionery idea, a nice touch is having a sweetie table where your guests can grab some pick ‘n’ mix of mini eggs, sugared almonds, chocolate rabbits and squidgy marshmallows. The colours of the sweets you choose can match the muted shades of your stunning springtime flowers.

If food is your forte, then incorporate the theme into your wedding breakfast or evening meal too. You’ll get everyone’s taste buds going if you offer traditional Easter meals like succulent herb-crusted leg of lamb, scored honey-glazed ham, seasoned roast vegetables and spiced hot crossed buns or trifle for pudding. Don’t forget rabbit shaped crackers for your cheese board later! Our talented approved caterers can create a tasty bespoke menu just for your wedding party to enjoy.

So however you envisage your springtime Easter egg-stravaganza wedding, Heaton House Farm can accommodate the perfect mix of your favourite things and welcome all your friends along as they join you on your special day.
