On the cold winter’s night in December, the barns at Heaton House Farm were transformed into the Fairytale of New York, and we welcomed over 300 guests to our annual Christmas Party 2015.
Gents donned their dickie bows and the ladies looked spectacular in ball gowns, as they arrived into our beautiful oak beamed Entrance Barn and through the mystical Central Park, created using the venue dressing expertise of the Heaton House Events and Qube Events teams. Once through the park, guests were greeted with a fabulous cocktail reception by Mr Flavour, who in keeping with the theme, provided Tiffany-Tinis and Times Square Tonics.
After a sip of the cocktails, guests were invited through to Steele’s Barn which had been transformed into the ‘City of New York’ for the evening. Guests found their seats using a map of New York complete with the festive seating plan. Tables were named after well-known landmarks, such as Times Square, Broadway and the Statue of Liberty. The seating plan, table name cards and beautifully intricate place cards were all designed and created by the talented I Do Designs.
Once again, this year we got in touch with a number of excellent florists in the area, all of which we have had the pleasure of working with throughout the past year. We gave them all a brief to include ‘New York at Christmas with Wintery touches and a hint of Tiffany Blues, Whites and Silvers’ and left them to allow their imaginations to run wild. We were so excited to see their different creations and they did not disappoint! The Word is Love also provided the dramatic light up NYC letters in front of the stage, which created such a visual impact.
Once guests had taken their seats and admired the incredible centrepieces, they tucked into a delicious four-course choice meal provided by the brilliant Vanilla in Allseasons. The courses flowed smoothly, the food was uniquely presented and received numerous excellent comments on the night and afterwards.
Between courses, the guests were in for a treat, as they were surprised by the wonderful Erica Jade Murdoch, a professional aerial performer. First, she wowed the crowds with her incredible strength and poise on the silk ribbons, before another impressive artistic routine using a suspended hoop. Both sets were timed with precision, full of drama and elegance, and performed to New York themed music, above some bold and bright light up ‘NYC’ letters, kindly provided by The Word Is Love.
After a few drinks, the guests took advantage of the brilliant sparkly backdrop Photobooth provided by LS Photobooths. Armed with lots of silly hats and props, the guests had tons of fun laughing and joking, posing and pulling silly faces, before taking away a print outs and keyrings to cherish afterwards.
With full tummies, our in house DJ Krissi B warmed up the dance floor in preparation for the Toni James six piece band complete with trumpet and sax! The band were incredible, playing songs such as Uptown Funk, Mr Brightside and a 90s medley including Right on Time, Finally and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air! The dance floor was packed, with guests busting some moves until their very last song, giving a standing ovation at the end! DJ Krissi B then ended the night with a mixture of Christmas tunes, chart songs and old classics, with all guests finishing by forming a circle and kicking their legs up in the air to ‘New York, New York!’
