When do we need to pay the balance? We invoice you for half of the remaining balance nine months before your event, with the remaining balance paid two weeks prior to your wedding.
Where do guests park?We provide free, adequate well-lit parking for all your guests, so whether you arrive in stretched limousine, coach, horse and carriage or even helicopter we will find you a space.
Can we have confetti?Yes of course you can have confetti; after all, it is a wedding! The only restriction we do make is for the metal table confetti, this can be hazardous, so we are a little cautious about it. Please check with us before purchasing.
Can we have candles? No problem. All our marquee linings are flame resistant and fully certified for public premises. All we do say is that if you would like tea lights, please ensure that they are in holders which are at least as tall as the flame and that all candles should be on mirrors to protect our table linen from molten wax. We can provide a selection of mirrors at a very small hire charge; however please check with your registrar if you would like lit candles on the marriage table.
Where do people stay?We currently have six rooms available onsite. We can provide you with an extensive list of local accommodation providers, most of them are very close by. Can I supply my own mobile bar?Heaton House Farm is a fully licensed with its own bar. The prices on the bar are carefully kept in line with pub prices rather than hotel prices so there is no reason for you to need to bring your own bar.
Can I bring my tent or caravan? You are very welcome to bring your own tent or caravan. We have facilities on site such as disabled access toilet block with shower, hair dryer and electric points, and four electric hook-up points for caravans. You only need to book in advance if you require electric hook-up. This feature is proving to be very popular as not only is this a very convenient and affordable means of accommodation but also an opportunity to spend a long weekend in a very beautiful area of the countryside as we are situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. How big is the stage? We have a stage in both of the main barns, made up from several sections. The stage in Wedding Barn is normally set up in a 20ft x 8ft formation which is ideal for bands, and stage dressings for Asian and Jewish weddings. The stage in Steele’s Barn is adjustable but is normally 24ft x 8ft.
Can I have fireworks or Chinese lanterns?Due to our beautiful countryside location, we only allow fireworks on the weekend of Bonfire Night (November 5th) and New Year's Eve. Chinese lanterns are not permitted.
Can I bring my dog?Your pet dog is very welcome to come for photographs in the grounds, and to stay with you in a tent or caravan as long as they are well behaved and on a lead. However, we cannot allow the animals into either the barns or any of the accommodation rooms out of consideration to other future guests. There is a kennels conveniently situated just 2 minutes away from Heaton House Farm where you can leave your dog overnight. Gun Moor Kennels can be contacted on 01260 226 449.
